Now, for everyone who was wondering whether they would have a big, traditional Indian wedding or a Western Christian ceremony, we finally an answer. On November 11th, insider reports confirmed that the couple booked the 347-room Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur for their December wedding ceremony. According to these reports, there will be a Christian ceremony held at another venue, followed by the Hindu ceremony at the Palace.

The Umaid Bhawan Palace is as majestic as wedding venues get. Completed in 1943, it was the last palace to be built before India became independent four years later. The sprawling building stands on a 26-acre plot, of which 15 acres are kept as gardens, and is only 4 kilometers away from the blue city of Jodhpur, one of the most popular tourist destinations in India’s Rajasthan province. It is divided in three parts: the home of the Jodhpur royal family, a historical museum, and a 5-star, 64-room hotel owned by Taj Hotels Resorts.

As if the beautiful surroundings and elegant Art Deco interiors weren’t enough, you’ll be surprised to know that Umaid Bhawan was built with the same palm court marble used in the construction of the Taj Mahal, located in Agra and built in the 17th century. Here you’ll find a subterranean pool, a luxury spa, yoga and meditation sessions, and of course, world-class restaurants where you can have a taste of Rajasthani cuisine. For these reasons alone, staying at the Palace is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and, most definitely, the kind of place where anyone would be lucky to celebrate their love.

With only a few weeks to go until their big day, we can’t wait for more details to emerge about what will certainly be one of the most incredible celebrity weddings in recent history. Who knows? Maybe Priyanka was inspired by her friend Meghan’s wedding back in May and decided she wanted her own wedding to have a dash of royalty.
