Toy Story Land Has Finally Opened And I Can’t Wait To Hang Out With Mr. Potato Head

Because, admit it, you still wish your toys came to life and you could play with them in that magical world. Now you can in Toy Story Land!

For many of us, Toy Story marked our childhood. I mean, I’m pretty much the same age as Andy, so the process he goes through in the films was really relatable, even going to college. Besides that, the premise of the films was really innovative and revealed new territory for us, to the point that (and don’t laugh at me because of this) I would make sure my toys were "comfortable," so in case they came to life, they wouldn’t just be crowded in a pile in some random box. I bet that, like me, many others were so inspired by the films that the news of actually being able to hang out with these characters and play with them in their own world, made the day of that inner child that refuses to go away.

Well, the wait is finally over, and starting this June 30th, we’re all going to be able to spend the day in Andy’s backyard, hanging out with our favorite characters in the new Disney’s Toy Story Land. Do you remember the story of the movies? Andy is playing with his toys, but then all of a sudden his mom calls him, and the magic happens: he leaves his room and his toys come to life. Now, imagine how awesome it would be to shrink to the size of your favorite toys and be able to experience things in their world. Well, you don’t have to imagine it since you can actually live it.

The idea of Toy Story Land is that you’re about the size of one of the amazing green soldiers, so you’re going to be hanging out in a land of giants. Toy Story Land is designed to make you feel as if you were another beloved member of Andy’s gang.

With attractions honoring our favorite characters, like the Slinky dog roller coaster, the Alien Swirling Saucers, designed and inspired by the Pizza Planet playset Andy wins, or hanging out with Buzz, Woody, Jessie, or the amazing Green Army Patrol, or even grabbing a bite inside Andy’s lunchbox, everything is designed to allow you for the first time to be part of the films. Oh, did I mention you can sing along “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” in a unique duet with no other than Wheeze from the second movie?

Toy Story Land is located at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida, and it's waiting for you to get Andy’s name written on your shoes. If you’re not convinced yet, here are some photos that will make you want to stop whatever you’re doing and pack your bags to go to Florida.
