Conor McGregor, the UFC fighter, is set to face trial in the High Court of Dublin after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 2018. The woman, identified as Nikita Ní Laimnhim, alleges that McGregor assaulted her at a hotel in Dublin on December 9, 2018.
The lawsuit also implicates another man, James Lawrence, with the plaintiff seeking civil damages from both men. If the court finds McGregor guilty, he could face significant consequences, potentially impacting his UFC career.

McGregor and his legal team argue that the accusation is an extortion attempt, and they plan to present evidence supporting their claim during the trial, which began this afternoon in Dublin and is expected to last approximately two weeks.

Details of the Alleged Incident
According to Ní Laimnhim’s testimony, the incident occurred on December 8, 2018, when she and a friend met McGregor, who then drove them to Lawrence’s residence.
Later, the group went to a hotel suite, where McGregor allegedly attempted to initiate sexual contact. When she refused, she claims McGregor intimidated her, forcibly pinning her down on the bed.

Ní Laimnhim states she suffered multiple physical injuries to her face, neck, and body, alleging that McGregor grabbed her neck and restricted her breathing, making her fear for her life.
McGregor has not publicly commented on the allegations, but Judge Alexander Owens has clarified that this is a civil case, which means it does not carry criminal penalties but may result in compensation if the claims are substantiated.
