It had to happen sooner or later: after playing the beloved Harry Potter for eight movies and a few specials, his new great adventure has arrived: Daniel Radcliffe is going to be a father.

The world is more than happy for him due to the news, but it is also bittersweet for Millennials: it reminds us that we are no longer youngsters.

Daniel Radcliffe Is Going to Be a Father, and the World Is More Than Excited

It was thanks to some paparazzi photos taken of the actor and his girlfriend, Erin Darke, that the world found out that the famous couple will become first-time parents in a few months.

In the pictures, Darke, 38, is seen showing off her bulging belly while out for a walk with Radcliffe, 33, in New York City, according to information from US Weekly.

The future parents met in 2013 while filming the movie Kill Your Darlings, in which their characters had a kind of romance after several flirtatious scenes and even an intimate moment in a bookstore.

Their romance became official at that year’s Sundance Film Festival, where they attended to promote the feature film, which was very special for the British actor since, as he told Playboy in 2015, it laid the foundations for his longest relationship.

“It’s a good memory of us flirting for the first time. There was no acting involved, or at least not on my part. There was a moment when she made me laugh and I appeared laughing as myself and not as my character. She’s incredibly funny and smart. I knew I was in trouble,” he confessed.

The most beautiful thing for Radcliffe is that he managed to find a person who complements him both emotionally and intellectually, as well as in their tastes, since it turns out that they share certain hobbies that are considered by many to be “nerdy.”

“I grew up doing a lot of things that made me think, ‘This is super nerdy. I will never be able to do this with a girl around.’ But that’s the wonderful thing about the moment you find the relationship you’re supposed to be in. It’s like, ‘Oh, I can do all these things and you don’t mind. And you actually think they’re fun too.’ It’s fantastic!” he said in another interview with Metro earlier in 2020.

Daniel Radcliffe Joins the Harry Potter Parents Club

Radcliffe is not the only member of the Harry Potter cast to become a parent, as his co-star Rupert Grint, who played Ronald Weasley in the franchise, welcomed his first daughter, Wednesday, with his wife Georgia Groome, a couple of years ago.

And in fact, the star of Guns Akimbo sent him congratulations on this fact, even though they have not kept in touch as much since their separation at the end of the film saga, as they noted in the HBO special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.

“I messaged him the other day. I’m very happy for him. It’s very, very cool. Although it’s also, like, super weird for me to think that we’re already at the age where we have kids, but we definitely are,” he said in May 2029 on What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.

That’s exactly the comment that many Internet users have made upon realizing that the protagonists of Harry and Ron have already moved away from their childhood selves and will have their own family, something that has weighed heavily on many Millennials and Centennials due to the passage of time and the farewell to youth.
