The sports world is in mourning as Guilherme Vasconcelos, a UFC and Bellator MMA fighter, has passed away at the age of 38.
The Brazilian athlete was found dead under unexplained circumstances in Los Angeles, leading authorities to further investigate the cause of his death.
Guilherme Vasconcelos’s Cause Of Death
The news was confirmed by his uncle Walter, who posted an emotional tribute on social media. He expressed his shock and grief, stating that Guilherme’s death was completely unexpected, especially since there were plans for him to spend Christmas with family.
“Sad, very sad your farewell, Guilherme Vasconcelos! And so far from us in the USA. My dear nephew, my consecration godson, extreme father of little Naomi, much loved son of my sister Elisabete Vasconcelos partner of his brothers, Breno and Isabela and our extended family that today mourns his premature departure.”
“We were waiting for your visit for Christmas, but that will no longer be possible. Life is fleeting, and we woke up to this devastating news. We pray for you and hope that God, in his infinite mercy, takes you into his care and comforts all of us who love you,” he wrote.
According to Page Six, a cause of death was not provided but Bomba’s uncle and godfather suggested his combative career may have played a role.
“You pursued your dreams in America as an MMA fighter, Guilherme Bomba, Brazilian champion, but we don’t think that she would also take you on a journey of no return, without any of us around”

Aside from his MMA career, Vasconcelos gained media attention for his relationship with singer Demi Lovato.
Known as “Bomba,” Vasconcelos and Lovato began dating in 2016, even celebrating New Year’s together in 2017. However, their relationship ended in May of that year.
Though short-lived, their relationship was very public, often making headlines. Both stated after the breakup that it ended on good terms and Us Weekly reported that the pair was “just having fun,” as the pop star, now 32, was “still looking to meet new guys.”
