I can’t remember a week without Kanye West making the headlines! Turns out, the Yeeze creator has been legally sued for assault and battery, that is, a man accused West of punching him several times and disfiguring his face during an incident that happened two years ago.
TMZ got a hold over the court documents filed by Justin Poplawski in which the alleged victim claims the rapper assaulted him after he asked for an autograph. The incident happened almost two years ago, on January 13, 2022. Poplawski says he was waiting for Kanye outside a hotel with the sole intention of getting an autograph.

However, it seems Ye wasn’t in a very good mood that day since he allegedly got verbally violent to Poplawski. According to the documents, Kanye told him to: “Go the f**k out o here before I beat you the f**k up.” He then proceeded to threaten him to “make a f***ing example out of” him.
Poplawski is an autograph dealer and has already succeeded in getting Kanye’s signature in the past. For that reason, he didn’t really doubt things could go south for asking for a new one. After some words, Kanye cussed him once again, “So, do you want to get attacked for real?” Then he proceeded to punch him “severely injuring him.”
The court documents state that after the first blow, Poplawski asked Kanye for an apology, to which Kanye replied: “apology for what?” and then struck him repeatedly. Although the rapper/genius associates tried to stop him, he didn’t and simply ordered them to “go to the f***ing house and get my f***ing kids.”

The documents include a 31-second footage of the incident in which Poplawski can be seen lying on the pavement while Kanye is shouting to his companions. Now, the autograph dealer is seeking a big amount of money (that hasn’t been disclosed) to cover the medical bills that the assault caused him, including the disfiguring of his face.
Besides that, he wants reparations for the mental stress the incident caused. Poplawski’s wife is also suing for a loss of consortium, claiming that their marriage hasn’t been the same since the altercation.
Neither Kanye West nor his team have commented on the matter, but we’ll have to wait for his legal move. Most likely this will be all settled before a trial with a monetary compensation.
