Liam Payne, former member of One Direction, died following a fall from the third floor of a Buenos Aires hotel on October 16. Due to the circumstances, Argentine authorities conducted a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the accident and whether others were involved, which delayed the release of the body.

Three Individuals Charged In Connection With Liam’s Death
In a recent statement, Argentina’s public prosecutor announced that three individuals have been charged in connection with Payne’s death. The charges include abandonment of a person resulting in death, as well as supplying narcotics. According to the prosecutor, Andrés Madrea, evidence showed that illicit conduct took place, leading to these charges:
- One person close to Payne during his stay is charged with abandonment resulting in death.
- A hotel employee is accused of providing Payne with cocaine twice during his stay.
- A third person is charged with supplying drugs on two separate occasions just days before his death.

On Thursday morning, Payne’s body arrived in London on a British Airways flight that fans around the world tracked, making it one of the most-watched flights online.
His funeral is expected to take place next week at St. Paul’s Cathedral, where family, friends, and possibly former bandmates from One Direction are expected to gather to say their goodbyes.
