According to reports, the fall occurred at the Casa Sur Hotel, located at 6032 Costa Rica Street, after police responded to an emergency call regarding a man who was acting aggressively. Police sources revealed that Payne may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time. Unfortunately, by the time officers arrived, his death had already been confirmed by SAME paramedics.
Eyewitness accounts shared that Payne had been seen acting erratically earlier in the day. Allegedly, he smashed his laptop in the hotel lobby before being escorted back to his room by hotel staff. The tragic incident took place around 5 PM local time.

Payne had been in Argentina earlier in the month to attend a concert by his former bandmate, Niall Horan, which also marked a brief reunion for the two One Direction stars.
Liam Payne first rose to fame as part of the boy band One Direction, formed during the 2010 season of The X Factor. The group went on to become one of the biggest boybands in the world, known for hits like “What Makes You Beautiful” and “Story of My Life.” Payne was considered one of the band’s key songwriters and stood out for his smooth vocals and charismatic stage presence.

After the group went on indefinite hiatus in 2016, Payne launched a successful solo career. His debut single, “Strip That Down,” became a commercial hit, showcasing his move towards a pop and R&B sound. Throughout his solo career, he collaborated with artists like Quavo and Rita Ora, and remained active in both music and fashion.
Though Payne had struggled with personal challenges in recent years, his contributions to music and his impact on fans worldwide will continue to be remembered.
