Robert De Niro is one of the best actors in the world; however, when it comes to being a good father, the truth is that he leaves a lot to be desired.
The actor, who has played countless legendary characters that have gone down in the history of cinema, revealed several details about the way he exercises his fatherhood. And what he commented, unfortunately, puts the two-time Oscar winner far from becoming the father of the year.
Robert De Niro Loves Being a Dad but Without the Responsibilities
During an interview for The Guardian, Robert De Niro explained that he thoroughly enjoys the experience of being a father, although he admitted that the heavy lifting of caring for his young daughter is left entirely in the hands of his partner.
It should be noted that De Niro, who at 80 years old is the father of seven children, had the youngest of them just a few months ago with his girlfriend Tiffany Chen, 45. Gia Virginia was born on April 6, 2023, and is now a strong 6-month-old baby.
The actor mentioned that “there’s nothing easier than being a father,” although he also stated that regarding the care of little Gia, most of the responsibilities fall on Tiffany. “It is what it is. It’s fine. I mean, I don’t do the heavy lifting. I’m there, I support my girlfriend. But she does the work. And we have help, which is very important,” he said.
However, he stressed that the relationship he has with each of his children is different because the way he talks to them to the way he relates to them changes.
