Taylor Swift arrived in Europe and as expected, the madness was completely unleashed, but what we never imagined is that the ‘Eras Tour’ in Portugal would become the epicenter of an earthquake.
And although it is completely surprising, the singer made Lisbon tremble, when, literally, she and her swifties caused a mini earthquake during the concert on May 26 at the Estadio da Luz.
According to official reports, just at the moment Taylor Swift sang the song ‘Shake It Off’, the euphoric energy of her audience produced with their jumps and dances a telluric movement of up to 0.82 degrees on the Richter scale.

It is known that the oscillations produced by the swifties were recorded by at least nine seismic stations located in different parts of Lisbon, with the station located at the Professor Delfim Santos Basic School, in Laranjeiras, being the one that registered the most activity.

The most shocking thing of all is that the mini-earthquake could be felt up to six kilometers from the stadium, since the last seismic station to register the movement was the one next to the airport of the Portuguese capital.
How is it possible for Taylor Swift to produce a mini earthquake?
As soon as we found out that Taylor Swift had produced a mini-earthquake in Portugal, we were probably left with the same surprised face as you.
So it didn’t take long for specialists in the field to come out to answer the question we all ask ourselves: How is this possible?
Scientists at the California Institute of Technology and the University of California (UCLA) analyzed seismic data from the mini-quake that happened in August during Taylor’s concert at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium and found something surprising.
Specialists confirmed that the so-called “concert tremors” have low-frequency signals with peaks between 1 and 10 Hz, which are similar to signals generated by volcanoes or trains.
Without a doubt, it’s crazy music can provoke!
This is not the first time something like this happens, even. In Rome, Travis Scott fans also caused an earthquake in 2023.
And in July 2023, another Taylor Swift’s Seattle show caused the equivalent of a 2.3-magnitude earthquake that lasted several hours.
