You is the latest Netflix hit, and movie critics, communications experts, and psychologists have all tried to make their own views heard online. Fans can’t wait for the next season. But, while we wait for it to arrive, we tried to come up with five theories about what could happen once charming Joe goes back to his old schemes and lies. Caution: Spoilers ahead!
Paco tattles on Joe

The most dangerous loose end for Joe is Paco, who saw Beck locked in a basement. This should gravely concern Joe. The fact that he moved away doesn’t change things. But we need to remember that Joe left a mark in little Paco’s mind with everything he thinks about love and how to protect those you love. Paco’s mere existence is a danger for Joe, a double-edged sword.
Joe could be caught
Besides Paco, there are some other loose ends that might lead others to Joe, like the private investigator hired by the Salingers because they can’t believe that Peach killed herself (we never saw her dying, remember?) Also, surely Joe left a lot of evidence in the scene, aside from a flask filled with his own pee. While he tries to clean up, he could make many more mistakes.
The therapist might find the evidence to prove his innocence

Beck’s therapist -and Joe’s therapist, too- was accused by her, and although she is not a very attentive girl, maybe we and Joe are underestimating her. The therapist being in jail might be just a distraction. Joe should not be so confident.
Joe finally loses it
He has kept a pretty sane appearance, except when he is not and he has visions about Candace. The visions he has about his ex girlfriend, creepily similar to Beck might point to further mental decline. Joe is a smart kid and has read all the classics, but, if we go for the stereotype, extremely smart people tend to, well, madness. Is this the case for Joe? What if she never left the glass cage and all this is just a dream? Anything is possible at this point.
Candace reappears

We all thought she was dead, murdered by Joe, until we saw her enter the bookstore. Now what? Is the story of Candace real or not? Is she a figment of his wild imagination? Is she just a manifestation of his guilty conscience? The reappearance of the girlfriend from hell has just arrived to fuel the flames of confusion for us, the fans, and also for Joe.
Ever since Stranger Things and Orange Is the New Black, Netflix hadn’t received so much praise for an original production in a series format, and with all the new content arriving this year, they must do something very impressive with You to avoid disappointing fans. Let’s hope they deliver.
