What ‘Joker 2’ Will Be About
If the plot is based on the history of the comics, Arthur (Joaquin Phoenix) will be admitted to Arkham Asylum, a place for the most dangerous criminals in Gotham, and there he will interact with a psychiatrist. As she begins to deal with the villain, the woman will suffer a fascination with Arthur and she will fall in love with him, so she will choose to accompany him to the hell of madness. This is Harley Quinn, a character that Lady Gaga will bring to life.
Will ‘Joker 2’ Be a Musical?
Although it has been widely rumored that this second part of Joker will be musical, it is something that is not yet known, therefore, during the press event for A Haunting in Venice, Hildur Guðnadóttir, composer of Joker: Folie à Deux, announced that “ All I can say is that there will be a lot of music.” In an interview shared on the X Joker Folie News account, the DOP highlighted that he is not very sure if Joker 2 is finally a musical or simply the music is an essential part of the film.
“It just has music, that’s all. The music is part of the movie and the characters, but I don’t know if it is a musical. Yes, there is music, but there is also a lot of music in the first one. There are things we did in the first Joker that are part of the DNA of the second one. In the first one you’re watching Charlie Chaplin… and he has some inherent music to him, the way he dances and walks and all that. There are some things that we shot and were cut, but there was a little bit of Charlie Chaplin in his kind of clown way. Something of that same idea of ‘music’.”
