If you thought that the chance of seeing Taylor Swift cheering up her boo Travis Kelce at the Super Bowl would be the surprise of the night, you could’ve not been more mistaken! Brace yourselves because Nickelodeon has just announced the SpongeBob/Super Bowl moment we have all been waiting for decades!

Yes, five years ago, Maroon 5 kind of made a nod to the iconic moment of the animated series during their Halftime Show to introduce Travis Scott, but they missed to actually play a bit of the song to make it a Super Bowl historical moment. However, Nick has been listening to our prayers and we’ll have that ‘Sweet Victory’ moment at last!

Yes, SpongeBob and his band of geeks will make a special appearance on the Super Bowl broadcast. And no, it won’t be a clip from the 2001 clip we all love, they have actually remade the iconic scene with new animation techniques that look absolutely glorious! How will this happen?

According to Nickelodeon, their kid-friendly Super Bowl special will be broadcast before the game. And it won’t be only SpongeBob and his pals, other classic Nick characters will be featured during their broadcast special! This is how they announced it:

“Super Bowl LVIII Live From Bikini Bottom will feature a can’t-miss opening segment from Allegiant Stadium re-creating SpongeBob’s iconic ‘Sweet Victory’ performance; hijinks throughout the game from fan-favorite villain Plankton; appearances from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; reimagined end zone cannons that fire Slime, Krabby Patties, and pickles; undersea AR jellyfish within the stadium; Slime trails and pineapples; and surprise appearances from beloved Nickelodeon characters in the crowd. The production will continue to showcase one-of-a-kind content and Nick-themed elements throughout, including guest appearances, original on-field graphics, virtual filters, and more for kids and families.”

Here’s a preview of this moment we’ve all been waiting for for decades!
