Diddy trial: full 15-minute cassie assault video released in court

After years of rumors and heavily edited leaks, the full hotel surveillance video of Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting Cassie Ventura has been released — and it’s as damning as expected. The 15-minute, unedited footage was introduced on the second day of testimony in the Diddy trial, currently underway in federal court in New York.

This is the same 2016 incident that sparked public outrage earlier this year when CNN released a partial version of the clip. Diddy’s legal team called that version “deceptively manipulated.” But now, with every frame laid bare, the uncut footage tells a clearer — and far more brutal — story.

Inside the Diddy Trial: What the Full Video Shows

The video, taken at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, shows multiple angles of the March 5, 2016 incident. It begins with Cassie walking out into the hallway wearing a hoodie, followed by Diddy in a towel. What unfolds next is graphic and undeniable:

  • Diddy drags Cassie by her hoodie back toward his room

  • He kicks her while she’s on the ground

  • He grabs her phone, then hurls an object across the room, shattering a vase

  • A security guard (later identified as an LAPD officer) arrives, observes the scene, and engages with both Diddy and Cassie

Previously unseen camera angles show the LAPD officer, Israel Florez, arriving with a walkie-talkie, confronting Diddy, and later entering the room with Cassie. Florez testified earlier this week that Diddy attempted to bribe him to stay quiet. He refused.

Content Warning:

The following footage contains graphic scenes of physical violence. It shows Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting Cassie Ventura in a hotel hallway in 2016. Viewer discretion is strongly advised. This video may be disturbing and retraumatizing, especially for survivors of abuse. Please consider whether you want or need to view it.

Why This Footage Matters

The defense in the Diddy trial had previously claimed the footage released by CNN was selectively edited and didn’t show the full context. But this extended cut — which runs just over 15 minutes — offers no relief for Combs. The sequence of events captured from multiple cameras not only confirms Cassie’s civil claims but also lines up with witness testimony heard in court.

It also starkly contradicts Diddy’s public statement earlier this year, in which he admitted the incident “looked bad” but denied it was what it appeared to be.

Now we’ve seen what it is.

A Timeline in Motion

  • Monday: Israel Florez testified about the broken vase, the attempted bribe, and Diddy’s behavior

  • Tuesday night: The full surveillance video was made public

  • Wednesday: Legal analysts suggest this footage could become one of the most important exhibits in the trial

The Diddy trial is expected to continue for several more weeks, with additional witnesses, expert testimony, and reportedly more video evidence to come — including multiple versions of the 2016 footage edited by Diddy’s own team.

What’s Next

The video is now public, but the court battle is far from over. Diddy’s defense team continues to argue that his actions were misinterpreted and that the footage alone doesn’t prove criminal intent. Federal prosecutors disagree — and say this video is just the beginning.

Meanwhile, public reaction is swift and furious. For many, the footage validates years of accusations and solidifies what survivors, advocates, and former employees have been saying for a long time: Diddy wasn’t just a controlling partner — he was a violent one.
