A tragedy occurred in the family of a three-year-old girl named Amelie Paredes Sotelo, after the minor, while eating gummies, got a piece of it stuck in her throat because the candy was too sticky, by not receiving adequate oxygen, she would become paraplegic and have brain damage. The Girl’s Family Will Sue the Manufacturing Company
Relatives indicated that after the terrible accident that left Amelie disabled for life, they filed a complaint in Philadelphia, United States, against Frankford Candy & Chocolate Co., Frankford Candy LLC, and Hasbro, alleging that the candies under the name ‘Candy Land Gummy Dots‘ do not come with enough warnings. Court documents state that the candy consumed by the minor was made “in a manner and mixture that makes it unreasonably dangerous, due to its extreme stickiness and inability to properly decompose through the introduction of human saliva,” according to ABC News 4.
