On Wednesday, three men were injured in a stabbing incident and taken to hospital after a woman attacked them with a knife inside a train at Akihabara station in Tokyo. Police received an emergency call shortly before 11 p.m., reporting that the woman had inflicted injuries with a knife on the Yamanote Loop Line, one of the city’s busiest transportation routes.
What Happened During the Attack on a Tokyo Train?
After the attack on the Tokyo train, the woman was detained and, until now, the condition of the three injured men is unknown. Despite this, the Kyodo news agency reported that none of those affected suffered life-threatening injuries. Additionally, public broadcaster NHK initially reported that four people had been stabbed. That number has already dropped to three. The East Japan Railway Company said the Yamanote loop line was briefly suspended due to “train problems.”
Akihabara Station is famous worldwide for its electronics and gadget retail stalls. For this reason, it is one of the most important tourist spots in Tokyo and has become a must-see place for lovers of video games, comics, and extravagant clothing.
