When you are part of the Royal Family you have everything planned, including what will happen the day you die. That is why we have the now extremely popular London Bridge Down plan, the one that will be rolled out once Queen Elizabeth passes away but did you know she is not the only one to have one of these plans?
As far as we know, Prince Charles and even Prince Phillip had one with a coded name, given to it according to the royal it belonged and a philosophy the Queen chose to follow early on in her reign.

Prince Charles’ plan is named Menai Bridge and Prince Phillip’s was Forth Bridge. Do you notice a pattern here? Yes, they all are named after iconic British bridges and there is a reason why.
It was Queen Elizabeth II who decided that all the funeral plans of her family would be coded named after the United Kingdom’s most important bridges across Wales, Scotland, and England. And, according to royal historians, this decision was taken as a way to symbolize the connection and bridge between life and death.
London Bridge
This plan belongs to Queen Elizabeth and was outlined early in the 60s. Since then, every year is updated to follow actual guidelines. There are even royal insiders who claim that this plan is rehearsed each year, guaranteeing everyone will be ready when the time comes.
Of course, its name is a reference to one of the most iconic and important bridges in England. And the code phrase London Bridge is down will be uttered by the private secretary to the current Prime Minister when the Queen passes away.
Menai Bridge
The most iconic bridge in Wales is, of course, the code for Prince Charles’ funeral plan.
This structure connects Anglesey and Wales and it became the world’s first major suspension bridge in 1826 when its construction was finished.

Forth Bridge
Prince Philip, as Duke of Edinburgh, had a plan named in reference to one of the most important bridges in Scotland, the Forth Bridge.
This bridge was declared a World Heritage Site in 2016 and is the one that connects Edinburgh with Fife.
It is unknown if either Camilla or William have a plan named after a bridge, but historians have pointed out that Diana didn’t have one when she died in a tragic accident in 1997.
