Is this just Texas on a normal day? 21-year-old Texas woman Juniper Bryson has been arrested for allegedly attempting to sell her newborn baby through Facebook.
The young woman from Houston reportedly took to social media to find a buyer, raising alarm bells not just for her baby’s welfare but for the larger issue of child safety in vulnerable situations.

Texas Woman Arrested After Shocking Facebook Post to Sell Newborn Baby

Everything began in a Facebook group, “Birth Mothers Looking for Adoptive Parent(s),” on September 22, 2024. Bryson’s post wasn’t subtle: she offered to connect with anyone looking to adopt, even mentioning that the baby would test positive for drugs.
While she cast a wide net, she reportedly connected with a same-sex couple from Louisiana willing to make the trip to Houston. The sticking point? Bryson’s demand for a $150 payment upfront, which ultimately led the couple to back out.

The story took a darker turn when Bryson reached out to a family member who, alarmed by her intentions, tipped off local authorities. After searching her phone, police found multiple messages showing Bryson’s attempts to secure payment from potential buyers before the birth.

Following her arrest, Bryson now faces a serious charge: one count of felony sale or purchase of a child. This case has sparked an important, if unsettling, conversation about how online platforms can potentially enable this kind of exploitation—and how communities can better protect the most vulnerable.
