Brandy Norwood looks beautiful as Cinderella, and whoever says otherwise is lying; in fact, we are urged by Disney’s new surprise to enjoy one of our favorite princesses.
Cinderella is one of Disney’s most iconic classics; its animated version was released in 1950. There are already several adaptations and some of these have already integrated diversity and inclusion. A clear example is the 1997 film, a small-screen adaptation that starred Brandy Norwood as the iconic princess and Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother. Today, Norwood is back to reunite with the princess she played more than twenty years ago, and, let’s not deny it, she’s looking mighty gorgeous.
Brandy Norwood is Back as Cinderella
We have the first images of Brandy Norwood as Cinderella, and we love it; the actress will bring back the princess as Disney is preparing a new feature film. The new production is called The Rise of Red and is part of the sequel to 2019’s Descendants 3.
Within this franchise, the film will focus on the characters Red and Chloe, played by Kylie Cantrall and Malia Baker, daughters of the Queen of Hearts and Cinderella, as they are in search of the balance between good and evil with a journey through time.
Equity and Inclusion Are Already at the Forefront of Disney’s Work
In recent years, Disney has been faithfully committed to inclusion and diversity, the reason for the participation of actors with different backgrounds and ethnicities to play the iconic characters.
Some fans of Disney films do not agree very much with these modifications and have harshly criticized the company, the stories, and, unfortunately, also the actors integrated into the new productions, which the only thing they do is to freely represent their race and all those who at some point did not feel identified with the characters of the films. The truth is that we really want to see Brandy Norwood as Cinderella again because she still looks as magical as before.
