We all know that Taylor Swift has become one of the most influential and beloved celebrities in the world. We also know that her fandom can be a bit extreme, but turning your love to a stalker level is definitely something scary!
In the past week, we’ve heard about a man who has been stalking the singer’s apartment persistently despite being caught every single time! It all started last Saturday, when David Crowe, a 33-year-old man from Seatle, was reported by neighbors for trying to get into Swift’s luxurious building in Tribeca, New York.
He was arrested and released after some hours while the police were running a background check. However, the only thing they discovered was that he had failed to attend a court warrant in Brooklyn in 2017, and since he didn’t get to trespass on the building there was no reason to keep him detained.
Fast forward to last Monday, Crowe showed up to the building again! Taylor’s security team and neighbors were already alerted and immediately called 911, who rapidly arrived at the location. Crowe had escaped, but he was shortly caught one block away and taken into custody.
Now, it seems he’s determined and doesn’t care about the consequences of his actions because, just a few hours after being released by a court in Manhattan, David Crowe was found avidly going through the garbage of a dumpster across Taylor Swift‘s home, this Wednesday.
For the third time in less than a week, this obsessed man was arrested and now has been charged with criminal contempt. Since the second incident, Swift’s security team filed an order of protection, and he’s now facing two counts of harassment and one count of stalking.
Her team, neighbors, and fans are just hoping this time he won’t be released that easily, as he seems determined to trespass; plus, we don’t know what his real intentions are. Not only that, this third time was more worrisome since Taylor was presumably staying at her apartment. She was spotted having dinner on Tuesday with her new bestie Brittany Mahomes and top model Cara Delevigne.
The good news, the singer will be out of the country very soon as she’s expected to start the second leg of her Eras Tour this February in Japan. Still, it’s scary to think there’s someone so obsessed with you that they don’t seem to care about serving some time in prison!
