Imagine being the most famous person in the world and having people creating and spreading all sorts of stories and theories about your life?! Taylor Swift is now that person, and her fame has gone so far that she’s even the protagonist of a theory that involves the government!
This week, Fox News (no surprise) host Jesse Watters claimed that Taylor Swift could be a “front for a covert political agenda.” Watters’ conspiracy theory goes further claiming that the “Cruel Summer” singer had been working for the Pentagon for the past four years in a “psychological operations unit” that turned her into an asset.
“It’s real. The Pentagon psy-op unit pitched NATO on turning Taylor Swift into an asset for combating misinformation online,” added Watters to his nonsense fantasy. Then he pulled out a video from 2019 of a NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence event in which one of the speakers mentions Taylor Swift as an example of a powerful influencer.
For Watters, this was more than enough evidence to suggest that NATO and the Pentagon were targeting Taylor Swift for an ultra-secret, and ultra-disturbing project to control and influence people’s minds! However, Watters’ theory was rapidly shut down by the Pentagon itself with the most epic response.

What Does the Pentagon Said About This?
Despite the ‘bad blood’ that Fox News and Watters seem to have towards Taylor Swift, the Pentagon decided to answer to this ridiculous accusation. Sabrina Singh, a spokesperson of the Pentagon, epically stated that “as for this conspiracy theory, we are going to shake it off.”
Singh didn’t stop with the cool Taylor Swift references and at some point mentioned: “But that does highlight that we still need Congress to approve our supplemental budget request as Swift-ly as possible so we can be out of the woods with potential fiscal concerns.”
So, in conclusion, Jesse Watters might be tripping, but what is true is that Taylor Swift does have an incredible influence in the world. The success of her Eras Tour and its later release in cinemas is proof of that. But if that wasn’t enough, we just have to remember how much she’s influenced the last elections by encouraging her followers to vote. “Voters gonna vote!” she once wrote on her social media, and Swifty voters did vote!
