It’s no surprise to anyone that Elon Musk has, once again, made some changes to X. Or is it?
In a new drastic change to the X app, formerly known as Twitter, users will now keep their likes private, which means that the likes tab will now be visible to account owners, but not to the general public.
Although authors will be able to see who likes their content, Twitter users will not be able to see the publications that other users have liked, an activity that has been disapproved by millions of users who enjoyed this feature.

Under the guise of “protecting users’ security and privacy,” X engineering team announced:
“Starting today, Likes are private for everyone,” “Liking more posts will make your For you timeline better.”
This feature was optional for X Premium subscribers, who paid $8 USD per month.
The reasons behind this new change are motivated by controversies of public figures who have been involved in serious problems after liking posts with pornographic or political content, even racist or violent in nature.
“Like is visible between you and the author, the author will be notified, but not anyone else,” “Bookmark is only visible to you.”
However, the fact that this option is mandatory and not optional for users, as it is on other platforms such as TikTok, has caused a stir among X users, who have rejected the numerous changes Elon Musk has made since buying Twitter, including changing the name to simply X.
remember the golden days when peoples likes were not only visible but shown right in the tl whether we wanted to see them or not?

In addition, Elon changed the verification system, making it accessible to anyone who decides to pay for it.
Another controversial change was the reinstatement of accounts that had been blocked in the past, as well as notable changes to the algorithm.

Musk, however, remains firm in the face of the change and even shared a screenshot of the analytics stating that there has been an “increase in likes after they were made private”
The Change From Twitter To X
It was Elon Musk himself who revealed that the logo of the social network would have some changes, to create a ‘super app’ with a new vision for all users. “Soon we will say goodbye to the Twitter brand and, gradually, to all the birds,” said the owner of the platform.
Today it is already a reality, and the new logo is a white X on a black background. Now the company is called X Corp, and even the entrepreneur considers that the change should have been made a long time ago.
