Two bodies close to each other move in tandem. They think every movement is carefully calculated but what they don’t know is that deep inside, their most hidden sensual desires have taken over. Words only touch the surface, but bodies they share every little detail you desperately want to hide. It’s been proven that spoken communication makes less than ten percent of our overall communication skills, and yet, there are moments where a slight twitch says it all.

The slight grazing of hands and the nervous grins make your heart flutter. What we can’t say with words, we say it with our hands and our eyes. Our bodies are amazingly good at telling the other all of your most hidden desires.

How many times have you wished you had the courage to tell your crush you wanted them? I mean, we all deal with self doubt and never want to be vulnerable in fear of being hurt, but what is far more toxic is when you don’t allow yourself to explore because you’re afraid of what people will think or say. Shyness might stop you, but your body will never stop craving that contact or speak of all those urges you have bottled up. Studies, such as the ones carried out at Harvard, have shown that our body language and physicality affect the chemical composition of our brains. At the end of the day, no matter how hard you try to erase that smile or frown, they have already wrecked havoc in your brain.

I’m not only talking about passion or desire, every single emotion falls under the umbrella of body language. Every thought that rushes through your minds is reflected instantly on your body. You shiver when you’re afraid, your pupils dilate when you feel pleasure, and your stomach flutters when you see your crush approach. These black and white photographs by artist, Bruce M. Walker show another side to body language we often overlooked, there is another body that is taking part in the conversation. The bodies in his images look like puzzle pieces that perfectly mesh together. There is a synchronicity in his images, a pattern that is pleasing to the eye and it highlights one of our most hidden fantasies: we all wish we had someone who was perfectly in tuned with our thoughts and emotions.

How do you read a body? The dictionary to decipher this complex language is unique in every person because it is instinctual and is built by all previous life experiences. You don’t have to be aware of every single movement you make, you simply have to embrace this language and not feel ashamed when it takes over your mind.
