On June 23, Iran launched six ballistic missiles targeting U.S. military bases in Qatar, specifically the Al Udeid Air Base, which is the largest American installation in the Middle East. This attack was a retaliatory strike following U.S. airstrikes on the weekend against three Iranian nuclear facilities—Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan—approved by President Trump.

Explosions were heard over Doha, Qatar’s capital, and air defenses were activated. Qatar temporarily closed its airspace, suspending flights across parts of the Middle East. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far, as Qatari defense systems reportedly intercepted the missiles.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps described the attack as a “devastating and powerful” response, pledging not to leave any aggression unanswered. The operation was named “Annunciation of Victory” by Iranian state media.

This marks one of the most direct confrontations between Iran and the U.S. since the 2020 killing of General Qasem Soleimani. The situation is still developing, and global leaders are urging de-escalation.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed the attack, calling it a “devastating and powerful missile strike” on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. They emphasized it was a response to U.S. aggression and vowed to defend Iran’s sovereignty.
