A picture is worth a thousand words, and rarely has this phrase been truer. Although it may seem incredible, fate has immortalized in photographs the last moments alive of some of the most beloved celebrities, just before their tragic deaths.
Not only do these photos capture those final moments, but they also remind us that although these great musicians and actors are no longer with us, their legacy will live on forever.

Avicii was found dead on April 20, 2018. The DJ ended up committing suicide just a few hours after taking this photograph with a fan in the lobby of a hotel in Oman.
Tupac Shakur
This was the last photo taken of Tupac Shakur and in it, you can see the singer in his car with his manager before being shot four times while waiting at a traffic light in Las Vegas and dying a week later, on September 13, 1996.
Whitney Houston
Whitney Houston was found dead on February 11, 2012, in room 434 of the Beverly Hilton Hotel as a result of accidental drowning due to drug use. This photo was taken just two days before his death.
John Lennon
John Lennon died on December 8, 1980, after Mark David Chapman, the man in the image asking for an autograph, shot him four hours after this photograph was taken.
Chester Bennington
Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park, was found hanged in his apartment on July 20, 2017, just four days after this photograph.
Jim Morrison
This was the last photo taken of Jim Morrison before he was found dead in the bathroom of his apartment in Paris, France on July 3, 1971, as a result of a heroin overdose.
Paul Walker
Paul Walker died on November 30, 2013, in a car accident. The actor lost control of his Porsche Carrera GT minutes after leaving a charity toy drive where this photo was taken.
