When Alicia Hannah-Kim showed up to Summer Con in Washington last weekend, she probably wasn’t expecting to get bitten—literally—by her 78-year-old Cobra Kai co-star Martin Kove. But according to body cam footage released by police, that’s exactly what happened.
The video, obtained by NBC, captures Hannah-Kim calling out Kove for sinking his teeth into her arm in what he called a moment of “playfulness.” She wasn’t having it.
“That is not OK. That is assault,” she told both him and the officer on the scene.
And if you’re wondering if it left a mark? It did. A visible bite mark that was “turning blue and bruising,” per the officer’s report.

Alicia Hannah-Kim to Martin Kove: “Sir, Were You Raised in a Ditch?”
The incident went down outside the Netflix show’s cast appearance at the convention. Kove told police he was “just playing” when he bit Hannah-Kim while greeting her. She screamed in pain, and Kove allegedly kissed the wound after the fact.
“I apologize,” Kove said repeatedly.
But Hannah-Kim made it clear:
“No. Right now, Martin, I am really pissed.”
She scolded him for brushing it off, highlighting the power dynamics at play.
“You have left a mark on my body, which in your 80-year-old brain you think is play,” she snapped. “How dare you.”
Kove admitted to the officer that he got angry when she confronted him—because he knew what he did was wrong.
“I was indulging in something improper,” he said.
No Charges, But Not Forgotten
Hannah-Kim chose not to press charges, but she wasn’t interested in letting it slide.
“I would like it to go on his record,” she told the cop, “so that he cannot ever do this to me again.”
Since the incident, Kove has issued a formal apology via TMZ:
“There is absolutely no excuse for my behavior… I was being playful in the moment but went too far.”
Too far is putting it lightly. In 2025, we’re still having to remind grown men—famous or not—that touching, biting, or anything without consent isn’t just “play.” It’s assault.
