Benedict Cumberbatch and his family lived the most terrible minutes of their lives. A few days ago, a man entered their London home and threatened them with a fish knife. The perpetrator was identified as Jack Bissell, 35, and acted when the Dr. Strange star was at home with his wife and three children.
The assailant entered by kicking in the iron gate of the front garden and, according to the details revealed, Bissell addressed the celebrity through the intercom of the home, which he started with his weapon. He told him, “I know you moved in here, I hope it burns.”
Before the attack, the man went to buy bread at a nearby store and confessed to the salesman that he would go to the actor’s house to burn it down. He may have thought it was a joke, but in reality, he was revealing his plan.
What Happened to the Man That Threatened Benedict Cumberbatch?
The man fled the scene, without physically harming anyone; however, authorities tracked down his whereabouts by analyzing the DNA he left on the intercom and arrested him. Jack Bissell pleaded guilty but did not disclose the motive for his actions.
He was given a fine of 250 pounds (around 310 dollars), plus a three-year restraining order preventing him from approaching the actor, his family, and the area where they live. All this happened at the beginning of May, but the Court asked not to reveal what happened until it is clarified.
