David Copperfield was considered for decades to be the most famous magician in the world. However, today the story is completely different, as the illusionist has been accused by at least 16 women of sexual assault, half of them minors.
The Guardian newspaper revealed that between the late 1980s and 2014, Copperfield allegedly sexually assaulted and abused young women, some of whom were lured with the promise of a career in the entertainment industry or being models, while some were hooked during their performances.
Three of the victims revealed that David drugged them for sex without their consent, such is the case of former model Brittney Lewis, who explained that the magician doped and sexually assaulted her in 1988, when she was 17 years old.
Another case is that of Carla, who at the age of 15 met David Copperfield when she was chosen by the illusionist to go on stage and participate in one of his shows in 1991.

The woman revealed that during the magic act, the artist groped her chest and some time later began to send gifts to her home, so at the age of 16 she received a balloon arrangement on Valentine’s Day with the note: “I’ll be back in two years.”
Just as the magician wanted him to do when he turned 18, Carla had sex with him consensually, although the age gap between them was around 20 years.
Several people who collaborated with him said that David asked his assistants to bring young, attractive and single women on stage, so when his staff brought up girls who were with a partner, he would get angry with them and demand that before they put someone on board they make sure that the young women were alone.
David Copperfield appeared on Jeffrey Epstein’s list
Allegations of sexual assault of minors take a much darker turn, considering that David Copperfield was singled out earlier this year for appearing on Jeffrey Epstein’s famous list.
According to the information revealed, David would have visited Epstein’s mansion in Palm Beach (Florida) and offered a show, in which he did some magic tricks with Johanna Sjoberg, who at the time was not over the age of majority.
Sjoberg testified in court that David asked him directly if he knew that “girls get paid to find other girls” and take them to Jeffrey.
It should be noted that so far David Copperfield has denied all the allegations against him as well as his visit to Epstein’s mansion.
