Demi Lovato has returned to the 2024 Met Gala carpet, after saying that she had a terrible time at the 2016 event.
Upon her arrival at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, Demi wowed in a silver dress with floral details as she posed on the red carpet with designer Prabal Gurung.
In 2016, after attending the event, Demi shared in an interview that she felt extremely “uncomfortable” and ended up leaving early to attend an AA meeting. The singer isn’t the only star who has criticized the Met Gala over the years.
Demi actually went directly from the Gala to an AA meeting, saying, “I changed my clothes, but I still had my diamonds on—millions of dollars of diamonds on in an AA meeting. And I related more to the homeless people in that meeting who struggled with the same struggles that I deal with than the people at the Met Gala—fake and sucking the fashion industry’s dick.”
We want to clarify that Demi was not banned, she simply has not attended the Gala since 2016, but her return we must accept that it was triumphant.
Despite criticism from some celebrities, the Met Gala is the most important and exclusive annual event in the world of fashion. This year the Costume Institute exhibition titled “Sleeping Beauties: The Awakening of Fashion” takes place. The official dress code is “The Garden of Time,” inspired by JG Ballard’s short story written in the 1960s.
