Diplo is once again facing trouble with the law, this time when he is accused of sharing a series of intimate photos on the Internet without the victim’s consent. According to Shelly Auguste, her DJ would have spread sexual images of her as revenge because for some years now both have been facing a legal battle in which the young woman accuses the musician of sexual assault.
The new complaint indicates that a person contacted Shelly on Instagram to tell her that he had received 6 naked photos of her, which were supposedly sent by Diplo through fake accounts. For his part, the artist’s lawyer, Bryan J Freedman, denied the accusations and assured that for more than 3 years, Shelly has been orchestrating a smear campaign against Wes and this new lawsuit is part of the same. In addition, he announced that Diplo would defend himself, because Auguste defamed, harassed, and attacked him and his family.

This Is Not Diplo’s First Lawsuit
In 2020, Shelly Auguste accused Diplo of sexual assault, gender-based violence, intentional intrusion into private affairs, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and fraud. According to the young woman’s initial testimony, she and Thomas Wesley Penz, the DJ’s real name, met in 2014 on Twitter, when she was 17 years old and he was 35. However, it was not until 2018 that they met in person and had sexual relations in 2019.
And although this relationship was consensual, what was not allowed was for him to ejaculate inside her or to record it.
It is for this reason that Shelly decided to start a process against the famous man, who had an agreement not to disparage each other, but who was raped by the woman in 2022 by publicly referencing Diplo with, among other things, retweeting a post. by Rihanna who said “Never underestimate a man’s ability to make you feel guilty for his mistakes” and a lyric by Taylor Swift that mentioned, “I don’t regret it one bit, ’cause he had it coming.” The above caused the musician to have to receive compensation of more than 1 million dollars.
