What Did Matthew Perry Said To His Mom The Last Time He Saw Her?
Suzanne recalled a recent conversation with Matthew that felt like a “premonition.” According to Morrison, Matthew expressed deep love and happiness during a visit to one of his new homes, telling her, “I love you so much, and I’m so happy to be with you now.”
She continued: ‘I thought, ‘How long has it been since we’ve had a conversation like that. It’s been years.’
“At the time, I didn’t think much of it, but looking back, it feels like he sensed something was coming,” Suzanne shared. “He also told me, ‘I’m not frightened anymore,’ which, in hindsight, worried me.”
Perry’s family—including his stepfather, Keith Morrison of Dateline fame—spoke with host Savannah Guthrie ahead of the one-year anniversary of Perry’s tragic passing on October 28, 2023.

The interview marks the family’s first time publicly addressing his death, which was caused by acute effects of ketamine and other contributing factors.
Perry was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home hot tub, and authorities later found that he had relapsed in his sobriety journey after decades of fighting addiction.
