The 1975’s frontman, Matty Healy, is officially engaged to the stunning model Gabbriette Bechtel.
The announcement came from Bechtel herself, who shared snapshots of her engagement ring on her Instagram story after a night out at a concert by their mutual friend, Charli XCX, in New York City. The ring features a striking black gem adorned with diamonds along the stone and band. In a playful nod to Charli XCX’s latest album, “Brat,” Bechtel captioned her photo, “MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT,” tagging Healy, who later reshared the image.

The engagement was further confirmed by Denise Welch, Healy’s mother, during an episode of her British talk show, “Loose Women.” Welch expressed her joy, describing Bechtel as “everything I would want in a daughter-in-law.” She revealed that she had known about the engagement for a few weeks and mentioned Healy had the unique black diamond ring custom-made for Bechtel. Welch couldn’t contain her happiness, stating, “We couldn’t be more thrilled.”
Matty Healy’s Love Story
This engagement follows Healy’s rumored romance with pop sensation Taylor Swift, which ended about a year ago. The brief relationship with Swift inspired speculation that several tracks on her album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” were about Healy, including songs like “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and “But Daddy I Love Him.”

After the split with Swift, Healy was reportedly seen with model Meredith Mickelson, reigniting an on-again, off-again relationship. Meanwhile, Swift has been in the headlines for her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce.
On the other hand, Healy and Bechtel first sparked romance rumors last September when they were spotted sharing a kiss on the streets of New York City.
