In a heartwarming Instagram video posted yesterday, Duchess Meghan shared that she teamed up with Billie Eilish to surprise a teenager who lost her home in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
The Duchess explained that during a recent visit to Altadena, California, she met a woman whose 15-year-old daughter had been devastated by the loss of a Billie Eilish concert T-shirt when their house was destroyed in the fires. The teen had attended an Eilish show just before the blaze, leaving the shirt in the washing machine. Tragically, when they returned to their home, both the shirt and the washing machine were gone—reduced to ashes.
“When they came back to see their house for the first time, all that she had been looking for in her home was the T-shirt from the Billie Eilish concert that she had just gone to. Of course, they now see their home, and the washing machine and the dryer are ash. They’re not there anymore.”

Determined to help, Meghan told the mother she would figure out a way to get the shirt back for the teen. She recorded a voice note for Billie Eilish and began reaching out to people who could assist in tracking down the item. Eilish, who received the message, went above and beyond—sending not just the T-shirt but a full stack of merchandise, including a signed copy of her latest album Hit Me Hard and Soft, a lunchbox, and other items.
“You guys, I don’t even know what this stuff means, but it’s signed for her,” Meghan said, laughing and adding, “I feel really old” because she didn’t fully understand the references to Eilish’s music.
The Duchess expressed her deep gratitude, saying, “Huge thank you to Billie Eilish. This is going to mean so much to her.”
