After Mike Tyson suffered a medical emergency on an airplane during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on May 26, the famous boxer had to postpone his upcoming boxing match against internet personality and now boxer, Jake Paul.
Tyson went to a follow-up consultation and was advised to do ‘minimal to light training over the next few weeks and then return to full training with no limitations’ as he was diagnosed with an ulcer flare-up.
According to People Magazine, Jake Paul agreed that postponing the event was fair to both Tyson and himself, adding that he and his team “fully support Mike in taking the necessary time to allow him to perform at the level he expects of himself.”

The 57-year-old legendary boxer was set to face Jake Paul, 27, in a boxing match scheduled for July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It was going to be his first professional match in almost two decades.
In a release, Mike Tyson stated: “I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flare-up, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover. My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon.”

He also thanked everyone for their patience and told Jake that “this may have bought you some time, but in the end, you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good.”
Tyson’s Mid-flight emergency
According to an eyewitness, “Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded. Before the paramedics arrived, the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor — the message even appeared on everyone’s screens,” the person told In Touch Weekly.
Mike’s representative told the magazine that he was just fine, explaining that the emergency was due to an ulcer: “Thankfully, Mr. Tyson is doing great. He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing.”
He also stated that the star was grateful to the medical staff who helped him during this medical issue.
Tyson competed from 1985 to 2005, becoming the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles, as well as the only heavyweight to unify them in succession.
