Miley is one of the most relevant pop artists who marked the childhood of many of us thanks to her role in the iconic Disney’s series Hannah Montana.
Although we all wanted to be Hannah Montana at least once in our lives, the 31-year-old singer who gave life to the character, explained that it’s not so fun to be on the other side of the screen.
The ugly truth?
This year the singer will have a special mention at the Disney Legend Awards for having “pushed the limits of creativity, challenged conventional wisdom and broken the restrictions of the status quo”.
The reality is that Miley, spending her entire adolescence at Disney was not that fun, although it was undoubtedly a unique and safe experience, as she said.
“I have been in the public for more of my life than I haven’t”, Miley explains this as one of the reasons why her adolescence was too exhausting.
Being a Disney star comes with many sacrifices that we as viewers don’t realize. “I worked really hard as a child. I didn’t go to prom. I didn’t go to dances. I didn’t have so much of that social experience or time for friends”, she remembered.
Despite the experience was quite exhausting, Miley has no bad feelings or resentment towards Disney, a company for which she did quite well with the amount of work she did.
Miley also admitted that she believes she really deserves that award and that she is very excited to celebrate it with all of her fans.
Miley’s first Grammy
At the 2024 Grammy Awards, Miley won ‘Best Record of the Year’ and ‘Best Pop Solo Vocal Performance’, both with her hit ‘Flowers’.
The singer was honest about it and she said “no shade, but I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and this is my first time actually being taken seriously at the Grammys?”
