Weston Cage, the son of actor Nicolas Cage, is reportedly being investigated by Los Angeles Police Department for allegedly becoming violent with his mother, Christina Fulton, whom he allegedly caused serious injuries to her face, as reported by TMZ.
According to the outlet, citing police sources, Weston Cage has been named a suspect in an assault report involving his mother. Allegedly, the incident took place last Sunday night when Weston was at Christina’s home in the Los Angeles area.
The altercation reportedly began with a verbal dispute between mother and son, which allegedly escalated into a physical fight. An ambulance was called to Christina’s house, although no one was taken to the hospital.
According to TMZ’s report, the fight was allegedly severe enough for the police to investigate it as a possible assault. So far, the police authorities have not made any arrests yet, as Weston had already left before they arrived.
Sources close to Christina claim that she intervened to help her son because he was dealing with an emotional moment. The mother confirmed that there was an incident and asked for respect for her privacy.
This Sunday, Christina was photographed at a parking meter, and the images show bruises covering her face. In the images leaked by the media, she can be seen with a dark red wound under her left eye, although somehow, it doesn’t seem too swollen, and there is yellow discoloration on her forehead and cheek.
As far as is known, mother and son have had a tumultuous relationship over the years. Weston has been treated for mental health issues in the past. In 2011, he was hospitalized in a psychiatric facility after a violent incident in Los Angeles.
