‘Quiet on Set’ became a whole ordeal, as for the first time in years, a documentary dared to give voice to the child actors who suffered abuse and exploitation during the golden age of Nickelodeon while filming some of the channel’s most famous shows.
The documentary addresses the toxic environment behind the scenes, especially driven by producer Dan Schneider, who was the creator of series that were a goldmine for Nick, such as Drake & Josh, iCarly, and Zoey 101.

Throughout its seven episodes, ‘Quiet on Set’ presented various testimonies from actors and collaborators who worked with Dan between the late 90s and early 2000s, claiming that the producer turned the workplace into a living hell.
Dan Schneider sues “Quiet on Set”
As expected, Dan Schneider was not going to sit idly by, so he recently filed a defamation lawsuit against the creators and producers of the documentary.

According to Variety, Schneider accused the documentary team of tarnishing his image by portraying him as an alleged child abuser.
In legal documents obtained by the outlet, Dan asserted that he “had no knowledge of the sexual abuses that occurred at the network, was not an accomplice, condemned the actions once they were discovered, and, most importantly, was not a sexual abuser of children.”
The lawsuit also maintains that, in an attempt to increase views and generate income, the documentary has “destroyed his reputation and legacy through false statements and implications.”
