Pedro Almodóvar’s Film About Euthanasia at the Venice Film Festival

While the actress was flying home, the famous Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar was crowned with the Golden Lion for best film, in his debut with an English-language film, at the Venice Festival with “The Room Next Door”, a film that addresses the issue of euthanasia.
In his acceptance speech, the director claimed the right to “dignified death”.
“Saying goodbye to this world cleanly and with dignity is a fundamental right of every human being, it is not a political issue, but a human one and it is from humanity that it must be addressed, although governments have to articulate the appropriate laws so that this can be carried out,” he said.
