Selena Gomez, a cherished artist who has been a part of our lives since childhood—through beloved TV shows and iconic songs—has shared a deeply personal and emotional update about her journey to motherhood.
Selena Gomez Opens Up About Having a Baby
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Selena Gomez revealed that her chance of having biological children is extremely limited due to significant health risks. Diagnosed with lupus in 2013 and undergoing a kidney transplant in 2017, Selena’s health issues pose life-threatening risks for both her and a potential baby.
” I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy,” Selena explained. This reality has been challenging for her, but she has come to terms with the fact that she may not be able to have biological children. Despite this, she remains hopeful and is considering other paths to motherhood.
Selena Still Wants To Be A Mother

Although the news may be hard, Selena Gomez has not ruled out options such as adoption or surrogacy. “I am in a much better place with this now. I see it as a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to help through surrogacy or adoption, which are significant possibilities for me,” she shared.

She had even contemplated adopting a child as a single mother, although her plans might shift now that she has been dating music producer Benny Blanco since July 2023.
“A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it,” she said, adding, “I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone.”

She shared how she is in no rush for marriage, although she is very much in love with her boyfriend: “I’ve never been loved this way. He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.” she told Vanity Fair.
