The Met Gala is around the corner, and with it, surprises keep coming. It was just revealed that Paris Hilton will join the list of A-list celebrities that will walk the iconic steps of the Metropolitan Museum for this year’s gala. Although one may think that a millionaire and heiress isn’t new to this type of glamour, you’d be surprised to know that this will be her very first Met Gala attendance.
As we know, there are different ways to attend the prestigious fashion event, a direct invitation from Vogue’s chief editor Anna Wintour or attending as part of a fashion house’s party (which also needs Wintour’s approval). So, what changed in Anna Wintour’s decision to finally include the socialité and TV personality in her exclusive guest list? We don’t know, what is sure is that she’s been changing the profiles of her guests in the past years.
TMZ reported that Hilton will be attending as one of the guests of an important fashion house, but so far, the name of the brand is still unknown. Still, fans have been guessing that Paris will likely wear an exclusive gown from either Chanel, Fendi, or even Karl Lagerfeld’s brand. We’ll have to wait for next Monday to see the iconic celeb shine in THE most prestigious fashion event of the year.
Besides Paris Hilton, other celebrities confirmed for the gala are Penelope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer, and Dua Lipa, who will be this year’s co-chairs along with Anna Wintour. Kim Kardashian, Bad Bunny, Rosalía, Priyanka Chopra, and Salma Hayek are also on the guest list.
The theme of this year’s Met Gala theme is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, a homage to the late designer. It will take place this next Monday, the 1st at 6:00 p.m. ET.
