Hailing from Vermont, Maher didn’t pick up rugby until she was 17. She played at Quinnipiac University, where she helped her team win three National Intercollegiate Rugby Association championships.
She debuted for the USA Rugby Sevens team at the 2018 Rugby World Cup and competed in the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, where her team finished sixth.
