Some athletes need substantial emotional support to survive the sport’s rough environment. Luckily, Beacon has become responsible for caring for the United States gymnastics team.
Being a high-performance athlete and participating in the Olympic Games is undoubtedly an exhausting, challenging, and stressful task.
In an environment where you must give 200 percent, stay focused, sacrifice time with family and friends, and be resilient in the face of defeat, it’s entirely natural for stress and anxiety to take control.

Beacon, The Emotional Support Dog
Beacon is an emotional support dog, which has made him one of the most beloved and important members of the United States gymnastics team.
The adorable Golden Retriever provides support to the athletes during training and before or after competitions, helping them relieve stress by petting, hugging, or simply playing with him.
Beacon was born in February 2020 and was adopted at eight weeks old by Tracey Callahan Molnar, a former rhythmic gymnastics coach.
Gradually, Beacon began attending competitions to interact with the athletes. This is how the USA Gymnastics training program discovered the great benefits of his presence and decided to formally invite him to be part of the team.

Although the little buddy could not travel to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games due to regulations prohibiting pets in the Olympic Village, he has become a key piece in helping the United States team return to the podium and win a gold medal.
