‘Bambi’ Live-Action Will Be Sensitive to the Death of His Mother; It Won’t Traumatize Kids

Live-action de Bambi será sensible con la muerte de su mamá para no traumar a los niños

Since the live-action Bambi was announced, few details have been revealed; however, one certain thing is that the death of his mother will be approached in a completely different way than in the original film. Lindsey Anderson Beer, a screenwriter who participated in the adaptation of the classic Disney tale, revealed that the death of Bambi’s mother will be “friendlier and more sensitive” in the new film to avoid traumatizing children.

Anderson Beer explained that although she cannot reveal much information about the plot, the decision to soften that scene was made to ensure that the film will be seen by everyone without fear of the plot being too strong for the little ones. In addition, he mentioned that “some children and parents today are more sensitive than in the past,” so the fear of generating trauma in their children is one of the reasons why they don’t show the Bambi movie to their children.

Through the new Bambi film, the classic will be known by many more children, who will surely be enchanted by such a tender character.

What Is Known About the Bambi Live-Action?

The Bambi live-action was announced in the first months of 2020 and will be directed by Sarah Polley, known for her work as a writer and director on the film Women Talking. Lindsey Anderson Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet worked on the script, while the film will be produced by Depth of Field, a production company run by brothers Chris and Paul Weitz.

Like other classic Disney films, Bambi will be animated with CGI technology, and unlike the original film, the new one will be over an hour long. So far, there is no official release date, although it is known that it could be released between 2024 and 2025.
