We Miss You, Mr. Stark! Robert Downey Jr. Would Return As Iron Man

Robert Downey Jr. is and will forever be one of Marvel’s most iconic actors, because with his role as Iron Man he managed to steal everyone’s hearts, especially after sacrificing himself with the Infinity Stones to save the world.

In ‘Avengers: Endgame‘, the actor said goodbye to the superhero in an epic but very sad way, leaving a huge space on the screen that can never be replaced.

However, the good news is that after a few years away from the Marvel universe, it could all point to Downey Jr.’s return to the franchise getting closer, especially after his recent statements.

In an interview with Esquire magazine, Robert assured that he would return to play Iron Man if Disney asked him to, opening the possibility of his appearance in future films.

“Happily. It’s too integral a part of my DNA. That role chose me” he said.

Robert Downey Jr.’s return to Marvel

Robert Downey Jr.‘s return to Marvel could face an obstacle, as Kevin Feige, president of the studio, has ruled out that possibility in the past, something the actor knows well.

“And look, I always say, Never, ever bet against Kevin Feige. It is a losing bet. He’s the house. He will always win,” Downey Jr. said.

According to Feige, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man ended his run in the MCU with an epic and memorable finale and returning him would not only affect the films’ timeline, but even worse, it could damage his legacy.

“We all worked so hard for many years to get to that, and we would never want to magically undo it in any way,” Kevin told Vanity Fair magazine in December.

In this way, and taking into account Feige’s comments, the chances of seeing Robert Downey Jr. playing Tony Stark again are reduced, but hopes are still alive, so we will have to wait for this question to be resolved over time.
