What Happened to the Titan Submarine?
On June 19, 2023, a tragedy marked the world. It became known that the Titan submarine, with five passengers on board, to meet the remains of the Titanic, is missing. After several days of searching, specialists determined that the 96-hour mark of oxygen available to the crew had already passed, and we can now assume that the worst had happened. Experts changed the mission from ‘rescue’ to ‘body recovery.’
Some experts have said that one possibility is that it may have imploded or become trapped within the walls of the Titanic and thus difficult or nearly impossible to find them. The Titan submarine is capable of descending to a depth of 4,000 meters, and the Titanic is at 3,800 meters.
