
The main cast, which includes Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin Min, is expected to return with additional cast members to be announced later on. Steve Blackman (Fargo, Altered Carbon) will be back as showrunner and executive producer.
Netflix also announced the return of Jeff F. King, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, Gerard Way, and Gabriel Bá as executive producers. The second season will have 10 one-hour-long episodes produced by Universal Content Productions for Netflix. Production is expected to begin this summer in Toronto, Canada.

Based on the graphic novel by Gerard Way, lead singer of My Chemical Romance, with illustrations by Gabriel Bá and published by Dark Horse Comics, the series tells a strange story. On the same day in 1989, 43 women around the world, with no connection amongst themselves whatsoever, suddenly and inexplicably give birth despite the fact none of these women were pregnant seconds prior to giving birth. Seven of these children were then adopted by Reginald Hargreeves, an eccentric tycoon who decides to found The Umbrella Academy, a part-school, part-justice league that helps these children control their extraordinary abilities and use them to prevent crimes.
The first season of this half X-Men, half Watchmen series left us all with a cliffhanger, so we expect the series to wrap up some of the biggest loose ends. What are your theories about what’s going to happen next?
