barbie streaming - We Already Got a Date for 'Barbie's' Premiere on Digital Platforms

Whether you missed it or you saw it and are ready to rewatch it endlessly in the comfort of your own home: Barbie is coming to digital platforms very soon. Warner Bros. confirmed that there is already a premiere date and the platforms on which it will be available.

Let’s remember that Greta Gerwig has made history with Barbie since only three weeks after its release, it broke box office records. The director became the first woman to surpass one billion dollars in worldwide ticket sales. What new records will she break when she arrives on the streaming platform? It remains to be seen.

A new report from Variety revealed that Barbie will hit streaming platforms starting September 5th and this will be directly through Amazon. Watch out, because for now, it will only be on sale: it can be purchased in pre-sale in Prime Video and iTunes for $24.99.

This applies only to the United States, but it will probably not take much longer to reach the rest of the world.

The Most Successful Movie of the Year

Barbie hit theaters in July 2023, directed by Greta Gerwig and written by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach. The film stars Margot Robbie as Barbie, Ryan Gosling as Ken, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Will Ferrell, and Issa Rae. The film is based on Mattel’s line of fashion dolls.

The film’s plot follows Barbie, a doll who has to leave Barbieland to discover why she’s no longer “perfect.” She embarks on a journey of self-discovery through the real world, where she learns that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.

The film was first announced in 2014, starring Amy Schumer. However, Schumer dropped out of the project in 2017 and was replaced by Robbie.
