Ryan Reynolds has become Club Necaxa‘s new hope after buying minority stake in the Liga MX side club along with actor and producer Rob McElhenney.
The team also counts personalities such as Eva Longoria and Mesut Özil, former player of Real Madrid, among its investors.
According to the magazine, Longoria was the contact who helped incorporate Reynolds as well as actor Rob McElhenney into the team of investors.

Reynolds and McElhenney also own 95 percent of Wrexham, a Welsh football club that has ascended in category twice in the English Football League thanks to the actors.
After Wrexham’s succes, now they will focus on Club Necaxa, the century-old Mexican soccer club based in the city of Aguascalientes to enhance the club’s standing.
Although the details about the percentage the actors own are not yet known, it is understood to be a “significant” part.
It is also speculated that Club Necaxa will be the subject of a television documentary series similar to ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, where both Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney narrate how they revived the Welsh team and consequently benefited the community of Wrexham. The series received critical acclaim, winning two Critics’ Choice Television Awards and five Primetime Emmy Awards.
But again, this is just speculation.
Meanwhile, Reynolds and McElhenney within Necaxa would be involved in the exclusive streaming broadcast of matches through Hyphenate Media Group, owned by Eva Longoria.
Club Necaxa has a commercial value of over 200 million dollars after Longoria purchased 50 percent of the shares and more investors joined the team, since the team hasn’t had a bonafide streak in 40 years following Mexican media company Grupo Televisa purchase of the team in 1988.
Will they bring this local team back to victory?
