A mass shooting during Halloween celebrations in downtown Orlando, Florida, has left two people dead and six others injured. The shooting took place amid large Halloween crowds, and police have arrested a 17-year-old suspect.
The incident unfolded in an area known as The Block, home to seven nightclubs hosting Halloween-themed parties. The streets were filled with revelers enjoying the festivities both inside and outside the clubs.

As of now, two fatalities and six injured individuals have been confirmed, with those injured treated at a nearby hospital and reported to be in stable condition. Authorities have identified the shooter as 17-year-old Jaylen Dwayne Edgar, who was detained at the scene by Orlando police.
The suspect, Jaylen Dwayne Edgar, has been charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder with a Firearm and six counts of Attempted First Degree Murder with a Firearm.
Two Separate Shooting Incidents Reported

According to authorities, there were two shootings in the area. The first took place at 1:07 a.m. near the corner of Orange Avenue and Central Boulevard. Hours later, the same suspect reportedly opened fire again at the intersection of Orange and Washington, seemingly without clear motive.

The injured individuals, ranging in age from 19 to 31, remain in stable condition as authorities investigate the circumstances and potential motives behind the attack. A video of the incident shows police arresting the suspect, who was handcuffed and placed in a patrol car shortly afterward.

The suspect remains in custody as authorities work to determine the full extent of his involvement and any appropriate charges, particularly given the tragic loss of life and harm to those who were out celebrating Halloween.
