Man Takes His Own Life in Disneyland Park; The Third in Less Than a Year

The Disneyland park located in California recorded a new tragedy and that is that a visitor took his life inside the facilities; which has worried the authorities since it is the third to be registered in less than a year.

Anaheim police responded to an emergency call around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, where they were told that a visitor had jumped from a structure in the Pixar Pals parking lot, at the Disneyland resort, within the amusement park. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, the 24-year-old man, identified as Jonah Alexander Edwards, no longer had vital signs, so he was pronounced dead at the scene. The authorities are investigating the death as a suicide until the relevant investigations are completed.

The rise in incidents of this type in the Disneyland park is worrying

This way of taking one’s life is becoming a recent and alarming trend, according to the authorities, since 2010, 6 deaths by suicide have been recorded in that same Disneyland Park parking complex. However, three of these deaths have been recorded from December 2020 to date, this means that in less than a year, three people have taken their lives in the same way and the same place: by jumping into the complex of park parking lots.

The Disneyland, Pixar Pals, and Mickey & Friends parking lots are six-level structures… and are where thousands of visitors enter and exit the theme park. In the United States, approximately 2% of the 47,000 suicides each year involve people jumping or falling to their death.
